At the start of Joshua's new beginning after Moses died, God gave Joshua some directions.
Joshua 1:2 (NKJV)
2 "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them--the children of Israel.
God told Joshua to "arise, go over." This might sound like a simplistic phrase but this often times is the scariest part.
I remember when my wife and I went snorkeling in the Cayman Islands. She was very nervous about jumping off of our boat into this large ocean. There were lots of unknowns: strange fish, sharks, and jellyfish to name a few. The hardest part was jumping out of the boat. We finally decided to jump in. We slowly walked to the edge of our rocking boat and while sheepishly talking to one another we walked off the edge of the boat. It probably wasn't pretty. But the key is, we jumped in.
You know what? We had a great time that afternoon.
For Joshua, his journey began with his leaving where he was at for another desitination. For you and I, it is no different. Lot's of unknowns are up ahead but if we will jump off of our boat of comfort into the ocean of God's will we will not be sorry.
This year, lets leave where we were in all areas of our life to the place that God has for us. This could mean new journey's or it could mean a season of waiting.
Whatever the Lord says, let's just do it!
