New Year, New Possibilities 8

Laziness is a cancer to spirituality.  It takes discipline to be like Jesus.   Consider God's command to Joshua.

Joshua 1:11 (NKJV)
¹¹ "Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, 'Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.' "

God had told Israel that they would have the land.  God promised victory.  In preparation for the journey, they were to go out and "prepare provisions."  We must recognize that God expected Israel to participate with his blessing.

Many times we pray to be like Jesus but when the choice is made between watching TV or spending time in prayer we choose the TV.  We ask God to help us understand His Word but instead of reading it we read our favorite websites. We want God to help us to go to Sunday School or Bible studies but instead we sleep in or take a nap.  These things should not be so.  We should do our best and trust God to bless our hard work.

Remember, God was going to bless them but they needed to collect their supplies!
