When Satan begins to lie to us and tell us that God is not faithful, our spiritual vision can be impacted if we are not careful. A shortsighted person is a person that can only see things that are nearby, but not far away. If we abide in the deception of the enemy, all we will be able to see is our problems. Some symptoms of that we have fallen pray to this deception include:
- Depression
- Anxiety / worry
- Lack of spiritual perception & understanding
- Desire to turn back
- Lukewarm Christian existence
One key fact is that Jesus is both the Alpha & the Omega (Rev. 22:12). That is, the beginning and the end. Did you catch that? Jesus is the end. This is significant because He has the last word, not Satan. Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away." Isn't that refreshing to know? Your circumstances do not end with your vision, they end with God's Word! Today, as you abide in truth, watch your spiritual nearsightedness become corrected!
Have you found yourself nearsighted lately? What steps are you going to take to allow for change?
