Think of Others

Do you ever find yourself being totally consumed by your life, your job, your ways, your appointments, and just “you” period?  I bet if we could calculate how much we thought about ourselves on a daily basis, we would be shocked.

A few days ago, I found myself thinking of situations in my life and dwelling on whom other than - myself!  It was about the way I felt, what I was dealing with, the things I was going through, etc.  When one thinks about oneself continually, they lose sight of what is going on all around them.  You also run the risk of creating a downward spiraling “woe is me” attitude.  Philippians 2:3 states, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.”

I understand that we do have to invest in our lives and spend time organizing our days, but we must realize that life is so much bigger than ourselves!  The Bible calls us to serve and love one another.  We do not have to continually think about only ourselves, God is so faithful and will see that we are taken care of.  I encourage you to focus on someone other than yourself today and consider doing something to bless them!  :)

It is more blessed to give than to receive.  Acts 20:35
