Luke 4:18 (NKJV)
" The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives....21 And He began to say to them,
"Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
Jesus recognized that the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him and that the Spirit also anointed him to preach, heal, and impart freedom to those that are bound. If you and I are ever going to be used by the Lord in any capacity, it will be because of the Spirit of the Lord.
Anyone that ministers on a regular basis can fall prey to the habit of 'going through the motions.' We need to stop and listen to what God is telling us to do at that moment. Before we teach, preach, or minister to someone at any time we need to ask the Lord to lead us. If Jesus was empowered by the Spirit to do His works, then so must we!
