Imitating Christ: His Boldness

If there is one thing the Church in America needs, it is boldness.  We have allowed our society to dictate what can and cannot be discussed in the public arena.  This is tragic.  Jesus was outraged at what the religious community had done with the temple.  Instead of being a place of worship, it had been a place to make money.  The poor, the sick, and the hurting were not allowed in.

What did Jesus do about it?

Matthew 21:12 (KJV)

12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

Jesus overthrew the tables of those profiting from the followers of God.  Jesus was bold.  This is not complicated.  I realize we all have different personality types but we need to realize that there are some non-negotiables when it comes to following God's ways.

We all must draw a line somewhere.  For us, may it be the Bible.  When those around us try to cross the line of the Word of God, may we be bold like Christ to shake things up enough to frustrate the was of Satan.

This Could Mean:
  • Not giving your money for something
  • Not working for a certain company
  • Not associating yourself with a certain group
  • Talking, Yelling, or communicating somehow to voice your disapproval
Whatever the means, may we imitate Christ and follow God's ways in being bold.
