God's in the Fire!

Daniel 3:22-25 (MSG) 22 Because the king was in such a hurry and the furnace was so hot, flames from the furnace killed the men who carried Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to it, 23 while the fire raged around Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 24 Suddenly King Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in alarm and said, "Didn't we throw three men, bound hand and foot, into the fire?" "That's right, O king," they said. 25 "But look!" he said. "I see four men, walking around freely in the fire, completely unharmed! And the fourth man looks like a son of the gods!"

I believe God is still calling people to go "through the fire" with him. So many times we are so focused on God's immediate blessings and we lose sight of the fact that God has more in store for us then what we understand.

It was probably scary when faced with a fiery furnace.

It was probably embarrassing to stand out as such as a small minority in an ungodly environment.

It was probably tempting to submit to a false God for the immediate ease that it brought..

But in the passage you just read, God's people stayed faithful in the face of adversity. They did not give up even though they were challenged. And you know what? God was in it. We give up to easy -We act like it is not God's best for us to face challenges. This is wrong. When we are challenged, remember that God is with us while we face adversity and He will deliver us!
